Okay, so I've known Alexandra forEVER. She has been friends with my mom since my mom was in the Air Force way back when. I remember visits with her, oogling her silverware collection, her fancy furniture and teddy bears. Anyway, I reconnected with her a couple years ago through Facebook, and she had this storage locker in New Mexico was filled with material and silver plated stuff and china. She said that if I went down with her and helped her empty it out, I could have some. Well, fabric is kind of my thing so we arranged everything to go down. We turned it into a little scenic family trip, none of us had been to New Mexico before. A whole lot of things went wrong, and it took an extra day because of it, but for the most part, it was worthwhile. I'm excited to wash up and use all the fabulous fabrics I got. And Alexandra gave me the most gorgeous china set ever! I am excited to use it for Christmas when my sister and brother-in-law are visiting.
Lunch in the cute little town of Madrid
The clouds were just amzing
We had snow, sleet, hail, rain, fog and sunshine on the drive to Albuquerque
When she did get upset (the last 30 minutes of the drive) showing her videos of herself had her smiling again.
Little town of Madrid, in front of Maggie's a little restaurant that was in Wild Hogs (in which Alexandra was actually an extra in)
They had this fun little photo park, we had fun snapping pictures
The drive back was just gorgeous
Window rock
I think this one is called the steamliner rocks or the cruise ship rocks
Kari was awesome at keeping Audrey entertained when she was awake (because our whole back was filled to the brim with boxes, all three had to be in the middle row.)
Random dinosaur statues.
