Tyler wrestling on the Ice

So this was actually a funny story. We like hockey, and when there are free tickets available, we try to get them. So a couple weeks ago, it was military appreciation week, so of course, we got free tickets. Well close to the end of the first period, a lady comes and talks to a guy sitting behind us, and all I hear is "Where on earth are all the Air Force guys?" Apparently she was looking for an Airmen and kept on finding Army guys. So of course Tyler says that he's an Airmen and she's like, "would you be willing to go out on the ice? It's to honor the military and we've already got an Army member. You don't have to try to shoot a puck or anything. Just come see me at about 2 minutes until the period is over." Of course Tyler, being Tyler, said yes. And wasn't suspicious at all I might add. Me, not so much. So two minutes till, he walks down and meets her. I get the camera ready, just in case. lol! Anyway so she lied. It turns out that it WAS a compitition between Army and Air Force. You know that stupid contest when they get a shirt wet, ball it up and freeze it, then you have to pry it open and put it on as fast as possible? Yeah, that's what it was. And you'll see in the video that the Army guy's shirt kind of just unrolled, while Tyler was still trying to get the thing to open a little bit, so what did he do? Yep, Tyler tackled the Army guy to keep him from putting his shirt on. Luckily I got it all on tape. Enjoy. :D

Jillian is officially a TODDLER!

Ack!! Where on earth did this past year go? I feel like it went a hundred miles an hour. I don't remember Kari's first year going that quick, and we had a move and two trips home in that year! Maybe because I'm chasing two kids around everywhere. So on the 26th, little Jillian had a birthday. We had the Trickey's come over. They've got two kids and we're all pretty close. Kari and their little girl Caroline are BFF's. lol! So they came over for dinner and games and dessert. I was totally expecting Jill to just destroy her rubber ducky cake, she usually eats with little abandon. But she didn't want to eat it at all! Maybe she was intimidated by the huge cake sitting in front of her. Anyway, I still got some cute pictures. Our friends got her (actually me, because I'm a collector and Nancy knows it. lol!) one of those princess toddler dolls. SO CUTE. We got the Cinderella one. I've told the girls that she's very special and they can play with her when they're a little older and can take care of her. Anyway, Jill saw the doll in the box and she got really excited and tried to hug and kiss it. Tyler took some pictures, don't worry. But it was so cute! I feel weird having two toddlers. Maybe it's time for another one? ;) lol! Probably not for awhile, but we ARE trying to talk housing into letting us have a bigger house. Living in the basement is just not very much fun for me. :( Blech. Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. Tyler has had some developments for his heart, but that's a WHOLE other post so I won't go into that here, BUT Jill has her 1 year well-baby check up appointment on wednesday so I'll have some stats for you then. Sooooo, I've been super, super busy, and lazy. How are you both busy and lazy you ask? Easy! You cram everything in your "on paper" schedule, then you PROCRASTINATE. Yep, I am the queen of procrastination! So what if I have 4 puff quilts to make (two by saturday morning) by the end of the month, so what if I have a baby shower to organize by saturday? So what if I have a birthday for Jill coming up in a little less than three weeks and I haven't even bought a cake mix? I can do it all the day before.....right? :( *sigh* Well, I have to give the computer to Tyler for his paper (which is due tomorrow night, see? Procrastination is catching. lol!) So on to the pictures!!!

Jillian turned 11 months old Feb 26, and took her first steps with no help on March 2 (no pictures of that yet, sorry)

So it's been so long since I've been able to get Kari smiling on camera, usually when she realises that I'm taking a picture she gets mad and walks away. Very annoying. Anyway, last night she was great! So the many faces of my kids.... And oh, this dress I bought for Tyler's ALS graduation. It's pretty and I discovered this nice little online shop http://www.dress-queen.com/ They don't have any retail stores, so everything is pretty cheap. This one was $62. I will definately be shopping there again.

February!!!!

Hey everyone! Happy February! I was never so happy to see a month gone in my whole life. This year hasn't started out the greatest. I heard this country phrase a couple weeks ago and I laughed so hard when I heard it, but I don't think I'll be using it very often. "Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya" :D I know, I'm probably the last person on the planet to hear that little gem, but well, what can I say? Speaking of butts.......

I dyed my hair a couple weeks ago. FINALLY got rid of that horrible coppery red mess! It'll lighten up in a month or so then this girl is not dying hair for awhile, if ever again. Blech!

Latest news on Tyler

Good morning everyone. I suppose it's time for an update. I've got good news and bad news.
The good news is that Tyler does NOT have Chagas OR holes in his heart. The bad news is that the next step is a 30 day monitor which sucks, and Tyler is in the last couple of weeks of ALS so he really can't be gone from class. So he'll put that on the day after graduation, which is February 16th. The crappy thing about this monitor is that it doesn't do what you'd think it would do. It doesn't record the whole 30 days. How this thing works is that when you feel a symptom (light headedness, dizzyness, black outs) then you push a button. The monitor then records 30 seconds before you hit the button then a minute after. When it's recorded then you have to use a land line, call a number that they've given you, make a voice recording of what you were feeling, then put the monitor on top of the phone and it transmits it's little minute and a half of data. If you don't transmit it before the next time you hit the button, then it records right over it. It's very hands on and annoying, And the really crappy thing is that when Tyler's heart stopped last time he was on a monitor, he wasn't aware of it, and they already saw that his dizzyness wasn't caused by low heart rate. So this is what's going to happen, and I can almost guarentee it, he's going to wear this annoying monitor for a month, we'll have the follow-up a week later, then he'll say that the symptoms and the low heart rate aren't related, then he's going to recommend this other monitor that goes under the skin but that really does record everything, whether you're aware of it or not. And he'll have to wear that monitor for another 30 days, then it'll probably be a couple of weeks before they can sort through the data and get it compiled into a report for the doctor to read. Which means that it could be May or June before we find out whats wrong with his heart. Why not start with that second monitor you ask? Because it's "more invasive" and they only want to do it if "the external monitor doesn't show a cooralation between symptoms and heart rate". Apparently the requirement for a pace maker is "2 seconds with symptoms, three seconds without" meaning how long his heart stops. So how much do you want to bet I'm right? :P Anyway in the meantime Tyler has an appointment with his Primary Care doctor to see if we can FINALLY get that referral to see a neurologist and get his headache taken care of. Originally they wanted to "see what the cardiologist says" but we are NOT waiting another 2 months at least to get his headaches gone. It has been a constant migrane for 6 months now. Rediculous! Anyway, so that's what's going on. I will update as things happen.
